ms society brain/tissue bank tour

Organised thanks to the MS Society UK with the help of Mark Wood, Stop MS Appeal Board Chair

A small group from NeuroSoc talked to managers at the MS and Parkinson’s Tissue Bank to learn more about the different jobs that exist behind the scenes of research using human tissue samples.

Then, we were given a tour of the Tissue Bank where we all got to hold a human brain and spinal cord that was harvested in 1972.

We also learnt about the different ways of preserving, staining and slicing tissue depending on the experiments planned.

Overall, an incredible experience that we hope to run again in 2026!
