ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO MIND, A LEADING MENTAL HEALTH CHARITY.
The LSE and UCL Neuroscience Societies are proud to present a two-hour symposium, “Can Work Be Less Stressful?”. We invite you to hear a variety of perspectives on the issue, from the economic to the scientific.
Dr Teresa D'Oliveira from King's College will discuss how the current debate of mental health in the work place tends to emphasise tertiary interventions without focusing enough on organisational and individual accountability for mental health.
Complementing that perspective, we are honour to host Oliver Robinson from UCL, whose research work attempts to understand the underpinnings of emotional processing in depression and anxiety. Some of his work looks at whether it is possible to prevent the onset of these issues, which is undeniably relevant to an employment context.
The conference will include a panel discussion and a Q&A session with our speakers.
This event is free of charge for members of the LSE and UCL Neuroscience Societies. Membership for LSE Neuroscience Society costs £1.50 and is open to LSE students: https://bit.ly/2RTEGfQ.
